It's On!

Now that the hot, southern, summer has past, maybe we can have an enjoyable mini-reunion. Since retiring from the Sheriff's Office last year, I've been busy working with the MPD on the new CyberWatch program and the build out of the Real Time Crime Center, as well as consulting with Honeywell and some other companies, so I haven't given this much thought to a reunion lately.

So...Lynn and I are on the road right now (somewhere on I-70 in Missouri) heading to Kansas,then on to Colorado. And if she doesn't kill us by running off the road, we're goint to spend a week or so roaming around the Rocky Mountains. Meanwhile, I get a phone call from Kenny Daniel a few minutes ago wondering if we were interested in helping put something simple together. Sure, why not. Simple is good. Kenny said there is a place that can be had for under $500.00 That includes the room rental, a bartender and a cash bar. We would need to have the food catered. Here is a

Growing Older

Yep, we're over 50. It's kind of funny to see it happening (in a sad way). See if you agree with folk singer John Gorka on our common malady. It's called "People My Age"

people my age have started looking gross
i cannot say all, and i shouldn't' say most
I've seen em in the grocery, I've seen em up close
and people my age are looking kinda gross

people my age are showing signs of wear
there's holes where there teeth was,
and their heads have gone bare.
their brains are shrinking,
things are sinking into fat,
and as for the mirror,
you won't be looking into that

people my age have started looking gross
maybe not in colorado or up the silicone coast
back in pennsylvania, i eat scrapple on toast
those were my first steps on the road to looking gross.

people my age are looking over-ripe
some are getting operatons
to tighten up what ain't tight
what gravity has ruined, you can fix with a knife
what's pleasant in the darkness, is plain scary in the light.

Ok, Ok, Ok, I've put something up so everyone can post their ideas about a reunion. Why did I get this job anyway?

I've done the hard part, so the rest of you can throw out ideas about who, what, when, where, and how this shindig can happen, or not.

I'm a little preoccupied right now with consulting, but if there is enough interest in having a reunion, we should be able to put something together for the Summer or Fall. Feel free to email me.
